JANE ADLER IS A CERTIFIED PERMANENT COSMETIC PROFESSIONAL (CPCP).

This certification is offered by the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP). It is required to pass the exam, show proof of training, identity, current blood borne pathogen training, continuing education credits and agree to abide by the SPCP code of ethics. Jane Adler is also a former trainer member, technician and "Subject Matter Expert" (SME) in good standing with SPCP.
I began my official tattooing path in 1994; however, I had started my research years prior. I have spent endless hours mastering my cosmetic tattooing craft and years filling my brain with knowledge. After five years in, I thought I should teach. Not for the money but to share the gift I was given for symmetry and color, etc. I hung that up years later and I realized I cannot endorse or teach folks that lack ambition, dedication, natural ability, common sense and sound ethics. So I do what I love full time and then with a helping hand from Heather Alvin (my hero), I started my apprenticeship for traditional tattooing many moons ago. Along the way I have been given many lessons from Heather Alvin, Johnny Baldero, Levi Smith, Mark Walters, Chris Parrish, Guy Aitchison and Greg & Susan Alexander, and too many to list. Ohhhhhhhhhhh Alexis Lawson for sure my cosmetic tattoo mentor!!!!
Now I sit here being thrilled that after an absence from, traditional tattooing I am back part time at The Jade Monkey regaining my strength, courage and art form. As a full time cosmetic tattooer adding body tattooing is just a fab dream come true.
I also have chosen to tattoo mainly women. Seems to be my stronger suit. I also have spent many many years learning all I could about OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogen Standard and still teach an occasion annual seminar for a few local shops. I have written many articles on cosmetic tattooing and am pondering a book. I am also honored to help moderate two tattoo message board. One each for Hyperspace Studios (www.hyperspacestudios.com) and SofTap (www.softaps.com). Cool stuff. I have spoken at many conventions and I guess people like it.
SPCP 2010 Convention Comments
“Jane Adler, CPCP, brought to us “Silent but Mighty - A Study of the Manual Method.” When you see Jane in action, she has such a relaxed mannerism; you may not at first realize how everything she does is with brilliant purpose. She’s a perfect example of how the “Silent but Mighty” truly does influence our industry. However, those of you who know her realize she’ll kick your booty if she thinks you are making mistakes on cleanliness or workplace protocol. She’s truly passionate about her craft and the industry. Thank you Jane for showing us that it’s not the machine but the artist behind the tool that makes the difference. I find it insightful to be exposed to a technique that differs from my own. SPCP”
