 Okay, I know that I've only had these big bright bodacious lips for 8 hours, but hot damn girl - I LOVE EM!!!! Once again, you've outdone yourself. Permanent make-up changed my life!

I don't know when it started or why but I have been pulling out my eyebrows and eyelashes for years. It's classified as an Impulse Control Disorder called Trichotillomania (Trick-o-till-o-mania) and is defined as the "recurrent pulling out of one's own hair that results in considerable hair loss". No one really knows what causes it and the remedies include behavioral therapy and medication that seldom work for long.

Well, as you can imagine, not having any eyebrows or eyelashes leaves one's face very plain and without definition. They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul and eyebrows give definition to expression. Well I had no curtains on my windows and no expressions. I felt very plain and sometimes even like an alien. People would tell me I'm beautiful and I would politely say thank you when on the inside I said yeah, right. I only bothered with makeup if it was a special occasion when cameras would be around. It was too difficult and time consuming to try to draw straight and even eyebrows every day. If someone caught me off guard I'd hide. People would ask me what happened to my lashes and I would tell them I had an allergic reaction to mascara and they all fell out. I don't know if Whoopee Goldberg does this or not but what did you think the first time you saw her face? To me it wasn't odd; it was comforting to know I wasn't the only person in the world with a bald face.

I had thought about permanent makeup for a long time but it was a scary thought. I have tattoos and the thought of a tattoo machine near my face and eyes just freaked me out. And going to a professional permanent make up artist is something I couldn't afford. Then I found a SofTap® page on the Internet. It was a lot more comforting thought than a machine but still expensive. That page led me to Jane's page and the possibility of being a model for one of her classes. Being a model was a lot less expensive than being a client. I called her and asked a million questions. She was very patient and assured me that my face wouldn't end up crooked or scarred for life. So I made an appointment to be a model the next time I was in Arizona visiting family.

On June 30, 2002, I drove to Jane's school with a lot of excitement and a little apprehension. She ended up doing my make up herself because her class had to be rescheduled. We talked a lot. We worked out the colors to use, she drew on my face to get just the right look and placement that I wanted, and then I lay on the table. She did my eyeliner first. I was so amazed; it was totally painless for me! I think at some point, as she was doing my brows, I dozed off. And when she was finished, I was a totally new me, inside as well as out! I looked into that mirror and started to cry.

When I got home to my parent's house my Mom cried and my Dad had this wonderful grin on his face. I'll never forget it. My whole family (who normally didn't approve of my having tattoos) and all of my friends were thrilled!

A few weeks later Jane sent me the before and after pictures you see here. To me the difference is as wide as the Grand Canyon is long! I definitely, whole-heartedly and emphatically recommend SofTap® permanent makeup to everyone dealing with facial Trichotillomania!! Jane, Thank you! Just to let you know, there was no recovery time needed for my eyebrows.

Immediately after I left your studio I did about 4 hours of errands and by the time , I arrived at my house, I was fine, no pain. I didn't even have to take the aspirin I brought.
